The Chiara Quartet ("energetic and sophisticated" - The New Yorker) performs Jefferson Friedman's String Quartet No. 2 at New York's Le Poisson Rouge. Their recording of this, plus String Quartet No. 3 and two remixes of the quartets by Matmos, is available from New Amsterdam Records. Jefferson Friedman composed String Quartet No. 2 for the Chiara in 1999, and wrote String Quartet No. 3 for them in 2005.
